The worm has turned. An unbelievably poor Real Madrid has finally lost. Almeria were winning 2-0 at home when I left with 5 minutes to go. All we have to do is secure three points tomorrow night against Osasuna. Barcelona is quietly optimistic tonight.

Truly pathetic. When I left with five minutes to go it was 0-0. The game was rubbish. This League is rubbish. Madrid are rubbish and Barça are even more rubbish. How can anybody expect me to blog this pile of junk with even minimal enthusiasm? I'm thinking of moving to Italy or back to England (not really! :-)....

Fortunately, when I got up this morning I found I have to eat my words (well, some of them anyway). Apparently, Xavi scored in the 87th minute, so we won and are now only 6 points behind Madrid. However, I still think that the standard of La Liga this year is very poor. Neither Madrid nor Barça convince - they're just lucky that the rest of the teams are even less consistent and just don't seem to put a decent string of wins together. Other years there was normally at least Sevilla and Valencia to contend with!
