NativeSpain.com Regional Editors Required

The Opportunity
Beginning with the Murcia and Alicante regions NativeSpain.com has ambitious plans to cover all of Spain with online and printed guides during the next 2 years. As such we are looking to recruit Regional Editors to join our team for a generous cut in profits.

The Right Candidate
Regional Editors are highly motivated and well organised self-starters with excellent inter-personal skills and internet/computer ability. A background in writing/journalism and/or sales/project management is an advantage but not essential.

You will need your own computer with an internet connection and should ideally live (or have lived) in the region you are acting as Regional Editor for.

The Role
As a Regional Editor it is your job (with our support) to recruit new members for your area and motivate them to add town, city and directory content to the online guide. You will ensure the quality and accuracy of this information prior to full print publication (to a deadline) in the final quarter of your 1 year contract. You will be credited as editor on the cover of the printed guide for your region.

In addition to recruiting members and looking after content you will also be responsible (with our support) for attracting local advertisers and encouraging them to place subscription banner ads on the site. You will receive 40% (rising to 55%) of all advertising revenue generated from leads you introduce for as long as they stay subscribed.

To make it work best you'd need to be connected with your local expat community (Brits, French, etc.), be able to pull in advertisers and encourage people to add their information about the region to your information. All this will be done online. Then once a year, we'd output everything for you to edit, we'd produce a book and then help you sell it direct and via bookshops and Amazon.

Responsiblities
As a Regional Editor you will be set KPTs (key performance targets) for advertising revenue generated and members recruited which we will use to review your success during the year. If you meet or exceed these targets then additional "on target bonuses" will be awarded and a further 1 year contract will be offered with a 5% increase in profit-sharing. If you substantially fail to meet the KPTs agreed at year end then we reserve the right to appoint a new Regional Editor for the following year.

Remuneration
We offer a highly competitive profit-sharing package to the successful candidate giving a full 40% (rising to 55%) of all profit generated from book and advertising sales in their region. Upon successful completion of the initial 1 year contract the Regional Editor's profit share will increase to 45% and in the third year 50% after 4 consecutive years you will receive 55% of all profit generated for your region.
