Day Out In Águilas & Diving With Dolphins

We've been to the port town of Águilas (you pronounce it with the stress on the very first A) a couple of times over the last few years and we’ve always had a wonderful time. Our most recent visits included a spot of diving, some really great food and seeing a dolphin. I’ll tell you more.

We had a week off work and thought a couple of days diving would be fun. We chose http://www.buceoaguilas.com/ right on the harbour, next to the train monument.

Something out of the Ordinary

Although parades continues until Shrove Tuesday, the big day is Sunday,
when the carnival groups (comparsas) present to their new costumes.
That same night is when the rocks open, for carnival associations where
three days food, drink and good humour will be to order of the day. The
Saturday before Quinquagesima Sunday is the pregón, or proclamation, to
together with to paper costume competition. Also on the Saturday is the
speech that takes pleases between Don Carnal (Mr Carnal) and Doña
Cuaresma (Ms Lent), which ends, inevitably, in a battle of
confetti-filled eggs.
