Cruces del Mayo or the Crosses of May take place in every town and village, the photograph here was taken in the patio of the Convento de la Merced in Jaen city.
Romeria en Honor a La Virgin de la Estrella
Submitted by rachelwebb on Fri, 16/05/2008 - 11:14.Every 1st and 2nd of May the pilgrimage in honour of Our Lady of the Star takes place. It has been declared of National Tourist Interest in Analucia. Leaving the town halll of Navas de San Juan a train of highly dressed followers and frilly fancy carts proceed to the Sanctuary. They sing the typical songs called Mayos along the way.
