Submitted by Simon Harris on Tue, 29/05/2007 - 09:20.Well, as expected, Jordi Hereu of PSC won the election in Barcelona, but with only 29.93% of the vote he'll have to form a coalition with ERC and Ic-Verds in order to become Mayor.
The big news is that the Socialists will be running all four provincial capitals - Barcelona, Tarragona, Girona and Lleida.
Across Catalunya as a whole, PSC won more votes (32.23%) but have fewer councillors than CiU - 2,570 against 3,384. ERC made a strong showing but with only 11.67% of the vote and 1,584 Councillors not as strong as I expected.
