15-Deportivo Home

PIssed off again with Spanish times. Real Madrid are playing Atletic de Bilbao tonight at 10, and Barça-Depor is at 9 o'clock tomorrow. I have to be out of the house at 6.30 on Monday morning. What can a poor football fan (who needs his beauty sleep) do?

Another miserable game from the merengones, but they won (1-0). Apart from hating their guts, my mind is on the Barça-Real Madrid classic just before Christmas. If somehow we can cut their 4 point lead, we'll have the chance of ending up as winter champions. A tough call, though, methinks.

December Fiestas - Why Go To Work?

I arrived in Spain three years ago, almost to the day.  Within a week of being here, there were the December fiestas on the 6th and the 8th.

Having arrived from London, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the years, it amazed me how there could be so many fiestas here.  Between siestas and fiestas and getting our timing completely wrong, we never seemed to get anywhere at the right time.  It was either too late, too early or on the wrong day.

Second Year in Spain - December 2007

Supper, Spinach and Stealing

Food of the campo:  I cant believe how much I enjoyed tonight's dinner. Not only did it taste exceptionally good but I had to do a bit of googling to just check what I was eating.

A walk through the vineyards in December

Oh the modern age! I have just written my latest diary entry and it just disappeared into the void, so I will have to start again, and if you have just read something very much like this, I apologise.

I feel obliged at this stage to write a more substantial introduction so you will have a clearer idea of who I am and what I am doing here (in Spain and in this diary). Having read other diaries I would like to copy (I hope with her permission) the idea of Sue McGinlay and do this in a question/answer form, so here goes:

Expat Movies Wanted!

I have decided to put together a selection of video clips from expats telling the story of their experiences in Spain.

The theme will follow the Expat Survival Guide showing mistakes that we have made, advice to other expats and funny stories.

The intial categories would be:
