The majority of Catalan verbs (around 80%) belong to the first conjugation. Furthermore, as new verbs are imported into the language they generally take the first conjugation's -ar ending e.g. desqualificar, verificar, visualitzar, traumatitzar, distorsionar, erosionar, pressionar, allunyar etc. It can be said that the first conjugation is the most 'active' of the three.

Músics S.A. (Musicians Sant Andreu) are a bunch of rock/blues/jazz musicians in their forties, who have decided to get the music scene moving in our barri. We will be holding our second jam session at Com a casa (c/ Portugal) on Friday 25th January. All bangers, srummers, crooners and tooters are welcome!

What is a verb?

A verb is a word that expresses action, existence or state within a oration. If there's no verb, then the oration is incomplete. Even though, Grans magatzems, Pa i diaris, or Bon any nou! are all clearly comprehensible, they are not orations because they do not include a verb. In contrast, Ja vinc!, Espera'm! and Bufa! can be classified as orations because a verb is present.

What does a verb consist of?

Not much to comment really. Two miserable games of footbal. The merengues beat the cochoneros 0-2. We beat Racing 1-0. Everything remains the same.
