31-Getafe Home

As the Rolling Stones once sang

'Hey, hey, you, you, Getafe my cloud!'

*

Things just go from bad to worse. Madrid drew on Saturday, Villarreal had lost earlier on Sunday night, so all we had to do was beat Getafe to go back to second and reduce the gap with Madrid. What happened? Our bunch of duffers drew 0-0. Can things get any worse?

30a-Champions League-Schalke 04 Away

Suffering from turbulent emotions today. There's a part of me that wants us to lose. If we do, Rijkaard will get the shove and we'll avoid a humiliating defeat (8-0 or so) at the hands of Man United in the next round.

*

Well we won with more pain than glory. Bojan (again - how can our best player be a 17-year old?) scored an early goal, and Schalke were all over us for the rest of the game. My mate Mick said it was like watching elves playing against trolls, and the littlest elf saved the game for us.

Mislata

Population: 43,363

Mislata is the capital of the area known as l´Horta Oest and lies within the metropolitan area of Valencia - the final stop on Line 3 of the metro.  Previously an agricultural area the town of Mislata has evolved into one of the most densely populated in Europe according to statistics by Caja Madrid.

An event not to be missed are the fiestas in August - al Santísimo Cristo de la Fe y a Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles - when a giant paella is prepared, large enough to feed 5000 people!

Keeping in contact with the Rellies

The new technology certainly makes a difference to keeping in contact with the family.  On the whole I have dragged many of my friends and family along with me but it my daughter Sarah who has been keeping me on my toes over the years.

Study abroad for career

Put yourself in the shoes of an employer: you're looking at a long list of job applicants – all have college degrees, most have had good grades and many have related work experience. After the filtering process you're still left with a sizeable list of names on paper, and although you'd love to interview everybody (you don't want to miss the right person) you're working on a deadline and a limited budget.
